Turbine / Impeller Tank Agitation

Used primarily for blending of low viscosity products, impeller style agitators are the most common tank agitators.

  • Can be used with baffles
  • Single or multiple impeller options
  • Adjustable or fixed
  • Variety of speeds
  • Ideal for blending low viscosity liquids

Swept Surface Tank Agitation

Sweeping over the surface of a vessel without scraping it assures delicate products or those with particulates won't be damaged during agitation.

  • Blades do not contact tank walls
  • Improved heat transfer
  • Flow from perimeter to core
  • Low shear for gentle product handling
  • Sweep bottom surface only or bottom and sides

Blades do not touch tank walls
Ideal for delicate products
Improved heat transfer

Scraped Surface Tank Agitation

This method is ideal for heat transfer applications because it prevents product burn-on and can significantly reduce heat transfer times.

  • Blades make contact with tank walls
  • Improved heat transfer
  • Ideal for moderate to high viscosity applications
  • Low shear for gentle product handling
  • Low speeds for minimal air entrapment
  • Scraper blades on bottom and sides of vessel
